We only access your GPS when you are actively booking, driving, or sharing a trip. Location coordinates are shared strictly with your matched driver or passenger during the ride to coordinate pickup and confirm arrival. Once your trip finishes, tracking immediately stops. We never track your background movements when resting, and all route telemetry is stripped of device identifiers and anonymized after 30 days.

To keep our carpooling community trusted and safe, every driver and rider undergoes verification before their first journey. Drivers provide a government-issued photo ID, driver's license, and basic vehicle registration; riders verify their profile through secure identity hashing. Only your first name, profile picture, and verified badge are visible to other members. Your sensitive identification documents are encrypted, never made public or sold, and original upload files are purged 30 days after verification approval.

Scoot Ovr is built for cost sharing, not profit-making. When passengers chip in for fuel, payments are processed directly through bank-grade, PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment gateways. We never store your full credit or debit card number on our servers. Split-cost transaction histories, payment receipts, and reimbursements are retained strictly for mandatory accounting and tax reporting obligations (typically up to 10 years per statutory requirements) and are never used for ad tracking.

Coordinate your meeting point and luggage details without ever revealing your personal phone number. In-app messages are visible only to you and your matched travel companion. We never scan your private chats for advertising or sell message data to brokers. Coordination chat logs are retained for 90 days to handle customer support, dispute resolution, or lost-item claims, after which they are permanently wiped (or after 48 hours if you turn on chat auto-wipe in your settings).

After every shared trip, drivers and riders leave a transparent two-way rating and optional feedback. Ratings help everyone make informed decisions about who they travel with. Your public profile displays your average star rating, verification checkmarks, and member reviews. Member feedback is retained for the lifetime of your account to uphold accountability, but personal comments can be moderated or updated upon legitimate request.

If you ever tap the SOS emergency beacon during a ride, your live GPS location, driver details, and vehicle license plate are immediately transmitted to your chosen emergency contacts and public emergency dispatchers. We treat safety distress signals with the highest security priority. Emergency incident logs and telemetry are maintained for 180 days solely to cooperate with official safety investigations, emergency services, and licensed transit authorities.

Female passengers can choose to share carpools exclusively with verified female drivers. Gender preference information is collected only when you opt into this feature and is used exclusively by our pairing engine to filter eligible trips. We never sell, market, or display gender preferences on your public profile, and you can change or turn off this preference at any time in your account settings.

You own your data. If you decide to close your Scoot Ovr account, we delete your profile, saved locations, vehicle details, and active ride histories within 30 days of closure. If an account has an ongoing safety report or unpaid balance, minimal records are archived in a secure quarantine for up to 2 years before final deletion. You can also request a complete, machine-readable export of all data associated with your account at any time.
